Southern California Edison notified the City that a planned power outage scheduled for Sunday, September 11, 2011, would affect the traffic light at the corner of Santa Clara/Rice Avenue and Auto Center Drive. Motorists should drive carefully when approaching that area during the hours of the planned power outage.
The planned outage will begin at 10 PM Sunday night, and will continue until 7 AM Monday morning.
The Southern California Edison planned power outage will include the commercial district near Nyeland Acres.
According to an Edison representative, the work will not affect any residential properties, and will be solely focused in the commercial business area near and around Costco. Edison reps have also assured that businesses that may be affected by the outage have been notified in advance with letters and door hangers.
The outage may be delayed due to weather or electrical system conditions.
According to Edison, the outage will allow their workers to make repairs and upgrades to the facilities currently providing power to that area.
