The Oxnard Public Library will host a workshop on how to prepare for a job interview. Holistic career coach, Jamie Beck, will not only provide some basic do’s and don’ts of how to dress and act during the interview, but will also provide plenty of helpful tips. This free event will take place on Monday, February 13, at the Main Downtown Library, Meeting Room B, 251 South A Street, from 2-4 PM.
The workshop will cover the following topics: how to research the employer, creating an interview chart, developing confidence in your work even if you don’t have it in yourself, understanding what the employer is really asking, and how to effectively promote why you are the best candidate.
Jamie Beck has a Master’s Degree in Human Services with an emphasis in Social Systems and a concentration in Family and Work. She has worked for the California Department of Education and First 5 funded programs in the public and nonprofit sector, has been a career counselor for the California State University at San Bernardino, and regularly offers career education workshops at schools, colleges, and libraries throughout southern California.
