The Oxnard Multicultural Festival, scheduled for Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Historic Downtown Plaza Park, is proud to welcome back the ever-popular International Booths.
It all begins at the International Info Center located next to the pagoda at Plaza Park. Pick up the free passport and then travel the world by visiting each of the assigned booths around the park. Each stop allows visitors to interact with festival volunteers as they share details about their culture through music, dance, customs, and more. Be sure to have your passport stamped at each booth and return it to the Info Center for a free prize.
"Every year the International Booths are the highlight of our festival because it gives our community the opportunity to learn about other cultures in a fun and educational way,” said Yadira Viveros, a member of the festival’s planning committee. “What is most amazing to me is to see kids and their parents participating together in our passport activity,” she said. “It’s a wonderful bonding experience for families,” she added.
International Booths scheduled to participate: Chile, Spain, Bolivia, Scotland, Puerto Rico, China, Hawaii, Colombia, Japan, Vietnam, Guatemala, Panama, Jamaica, Philippines, Mexico, the state of Michoacán in Mexico, and the Near East Multicultural Arts Association.
Scheduled booths are subject to change without prior notice.
